American Veterans Mission

Thank you for visiting the American Veterans Mission! Founded in Texas in 2018, AVM is a certified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization headquartered in Killeen, Texas. Our leadership team comprises ten dedicated board members, including four U.S. Military Academy (West Point) alumni and three Texas A&M University–Central Texas alumni. We are a public charity under the Internal Revenue Code (IRC) 170(b)(1)(A)(vi).

AVM partners with local nonprofits, businesses, and community leaders to support veterans and military families in Killeen, Texas, and neighboring cities, including Harker Heights, Copperas Cove, and Nolanville.

Our advisory board includes distinguished leaders:

  • Lieutenant General (Retired, US Army) Dave Palmer, former Superintendent of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
  • Richard Archer, an Army veteran and a respected local community leader.

Who We Are

Founded in 2018 in Texas, AVMartinez™, doing business as American Veterans Mission (AVM), is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting U.S. military veterans by bridging the gap between military and civilian communities through volunteerism, community service, and partnerships that make a local impact.

At AVM, we believe that communities grow stronger when people come together with a purpose. Our mission is rooted in the same spirit of selfless service that defines our nation’s veterans. Through local engagement, we foster meaningful relationships, promote shared responsibility, and build communities where veterans feel seen, supported, and valued.

We are proud to serve as an official Certifying Organization for the President’s Volunteer Service Award, which allows us to recognize and celebrate the efforts of individuals and organizations who give back through service. We proudly maintain the coveted GuideStar/Candid Platinum Seal of Transparency (2018-2025), highlighting our commitment to transparency, accountability, and effectiveness.

Our mission is to build partnerships with nonprofit and for-profit organizations at local, national, and international levels to bridge gaps between military, veteran, and civilian communities through volunteerism, community service, and acts of goodwill.

Vision:

We envision an organization rooted in authentic friendships and genuine camaraderie, where people come together with a shared purpose: to build stronger, more compassionate communities and inspire lasting social change. We believe in the power of human connection, collective kindness, and the unwavering commitment of individuals working side by side to make a meaningful difference.

Purpose:

We exist to promote volunteerism and support veterans and their families by combining our skills, talents, and connections in service to others. Through collaboration and shared purpose, we strive to set an example for the public that together, we can accomplish more and build stronger, more compassionate communities.
